During the 1980s Jan began to refocus her life, training as a naturopath, counsellor, psychosynthesis guide, spiritual mentor, and remedial body and massage therapist. At the end of 1987 she left secondary teaching and over the past sixteen years has built up a successful wholistic private practice. In addition to her busy practice, Jan is deeply involved as a conference and seminar presenter, both in New Zealand and overseas. She facilitates workshops and discipleship training courses, writes, edits, and publishes.
She is the author of eight manuals in the Working with Energy series, monographs on crisis and spiritual leadership, and three collections of poems. During the 1980s she co-authored Managing Teacher Stress (published by User Friendly Resource Enterprises and currently available internationally). Recently she has co-authored, with husband Bruce Puddle, books on aspects of sacred sexuality, and is currently writing a book on the Kingdom of God. For details see Books and Kingdom of God.
Jan has forty years of indepth training across a wide spectrum of spiritual traditions, especially those of Christianity, Yoga and the Trans-Himalayan/Bailey tradition. From the mid 1980s she has sought to bring together the unique riches of these three traditions. Since 1994 she has assisted in the establishment and ongoing teaching work of ISTS, The International School for Transformation and Synthesis, which trains mature individuals from various spiritual backgrounds as powerful catalysts for human and planetary unfoldment.

The Work of the Partnership
As indicated in the Home Page, Jan and Bruce are focused on serving in the area of 'boxless spirituality' - that is, working with individuals, and groups, from differing backgrounds who are: strongly committed to the spiritual path; seeking to consciously align with Divine Will, Purpose and Plan; and willing to commit to discipleship training and ongoing service. Within the constraints of an already full schedule, we are available to lead seminars (to mid 2004 within New Zealand only) in the areas we are currently working on. This web site will give you a clear indication of those areas.See the Home Page for contact details.
