Implications for Our Time
At this key moment humanity finds itself on the cusp between the Ages of Pisces and Aquarius after having experienced another seeding period, a second Axial Age, between 1450 and 1750. It was during these critical centuries that the world views we take for granted today were conceived and developed in the minds and hearts of a few precocious forerunners, and a new, but strangely familiar, Divine initiative brought to first light. Every aspect of human endeavour would be affected by the resulting global upheaval, and the challenges would come thick and fast – challenges to move toward:
• Direct unmediated relationship with God
• Heightened appreciation, with the scientific revolution, of the vastness of Divine purpose and plan
• Heightened awareness of individual consciousness, individual responsibility and an appreciation of human worth
• Greater emphasis on the mind, individual thought and freedom of choice
• Both God and Reason, the development of a partnership between Divine mind and the fullest expression of human mind
• Heightened impulse toward true heart opening and right relationship
• New understandings of sacrifice, self-forgetfulness, and alignment with Divine will and purpose
• Democratic process, a political separation of state and church, spiritual leadership and an awareness of the greater whole
If we recognise the themes inherent in these challenges, it is because they were, in many ways, simply new versions of the Divine challenges which had been issued 2000 years earlier. The first Axial Age had seeded the divine initiative for the Age of Pisces. The new initiative would seed the Age of Aquarius and provide the impulse for a whole new phase of global unfoldment and maturing.
