I believe in the existence of the devil and his demons, but believe that through the power of God expressed in Christ’s death on the cross Satan is a defeated foe.
I believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, often accompanied by the gift of speaking in tongues, although I don’t hold that tongues speaking is ‘the evidence’ in the sense that many older pentecostals do. I speak in tongues regularly myself and find this gift to be of extraordinary blessing and power, especially in situations involving spiritual warfare.
I believe in the power of God through Christ to heal physical sickness, not as our right to ‘name and claim’ but as an expression of God’s love and will in those situations where he deems it appropriate. I have seen God’s miraculous total healing of one of my own children from cerebral palsy.
